Bali Cruise Experience

Destinations
Our itinerary focuses on the Eastern Islands of Indonesia. We have divided the itinerary into two main programs to avoid the monsoon. From April until the end of October we conduct our Sight Sailing Cruises program when the graceful Ombak Putih sails the turquoise waters of the Lesser Sundas (Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa and Komodo). From November until the end of January and March our Adventure Cruises program sails along the eastern coasts of Sumbawa, Komodo, Flores, Savu and Sumba.

The Ombak Putih sails mainly through the afternoons or at night, allowing time during the day to visit the exotic islands, to enjoy the wealth of the various cultures and beautiful nature, or to stay on board and relax.
We have been travelling through these wonderful parts of the archipelago for many years and we are delighted to be able to offer to show you the very best sights and experiences on each island. Travelling with us by boat gives you the unique opportunity to visit remote and romantic islands and beautiful, tranquil beaches way off the beaten track. From the feared 'Jurassic Park' dragons and the beautiful coral reefs of Komodo island to the rich traditional cultures and historical heritage of the Lesser Sunda Islands, every day with Bali Cruises Experience will be one to remember.

Under sail
Whenever possible more than 600 sqm of sail is raised, but the Ombak Putih also carries an engine to make sure we keep to our sailing schedule. We will sail you from island to island in traditional style but rest assured all modern comforts are on-board to guarantee your comfort. The hull and deck house are completely made of wood. Below deck there are 12 spacious cabins, each with private bathroom and air-conditioning. The Ombak Putih has been built to respect the utmost safety at sea, and to minimise environmental protection in this ecologically valuable and fascinating region. We combine traditional sailing methods with modern technology and a strong and ever-watchful awareness of Indonesia's natural resources.

Luxury on board
Indonesia is known all over the world for its food and the Ombak Putih's local chef can compete with the best in the archipelago. The ship's kitchen serves local and international specialties and we organize at least one beach barbecue during the cruise. Health and safety in the galley is paramount, as it is throughout all sections of the ship. All food is washed and cleaned carefully with boiled water. Food, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are included in the daily fare. Beer and several spirits and tropical cocktails are available at reasonable prices, as are bottles of wine from Australia, Chile and Bali.

On board we have a laundry service as well. Two room boys take care of this service. Two pieces can be washed complimentary and other laundry requests can be paid on board according to the laundry price list.

We have snorkeling equipment on board for you to explore the fascinating underwater world or of course you can bring your own gear. Although we do not have diving equipment on board we can organize diving in Komodo National Park, via our sister ship, the dive live-aboard Ombak Biru. This is an optional service and has to be arranged in advance. Prices are on request.

The speedboat is our ship to shore shuttle, taking you into remote coves, deserted beaches and up placid rivers.

Anglers will be in their element. Our crew is comprised of seafarers who know these waters like you know your neighbourhood back home. They can help you catch your evening meal. If you fancy a bit more adventure than the reel and rod then try out our two sea kayaks.

Every trip is guided by a European tour leader. They live for most of each year in Indonesia, speak the language, and are supremely knowledgeable about the areas we visit. They organize, in close cooperation with the office in Bali, the excursions and they are on the boat mainly to assist you and to answer any questions.

Daily radio contact with the office in Bali guarantees that both the guests and the crew have a direct line of contact with the shore. Our office can also arrange domestic air tickets and can assist you in organizing your pre- and post-cruise arrangements like accommodation, excursions or packages at most destinations. We also have a satellite phone on board.

Our fares are quoted in US$ per person.

Prices are inclusive of accommodation in air-conditioned cabins with private shower and toilet, full board, soft drinks, tea and coffee, mineral water, excursions, laundry service, use of towels, use of snorkeling and water-ski equipment, use of sea canoes, gifts, an European tour guide, transfers if not in Bali.

Exclusive are airfares, alcoholic beverages, crew gratuities, transfers to and/or from the boat in Bali.
